I need a sponser but...
I haven't really found that "connection" with anyone. How do I go about picking a sponser? How do I even know they will want to be my sponser? How many meetings should I go to until I figure out who would be a good sponser? My XAbf had a sponser in the past that was rarely there for him.
Ahhhhhhhh!! Getting a sponser seems so permanent..

Getting a sponsor is important. It was very hard for me to find a sponsor who really had the time to deal with me and all the issues involved with early sobriety. I didn't find one who really wanted me and had the time to help until I was 8 months into the program. She was so worth the wait! In the meantime I did have temporary sponsors who I did call whenever I was shakey or had a problem I needed clarity with.
I stood up and let people know I needed a sponsor when I went to meetings. It worked for me and I hope it'll work for you too! Keep coming back!

Did you just ask in the meeting or afterwards? I don't know if I would want just anyone to be my sponser; as some of the things are quite personal you discuss.

Find a temporary sponsor..Usually people raise their hands and say they are willing to sponsor someone..just start with someone at a meeting you have talked to..you'll figure it out if you want it to be permanent.

The "connection" comes from buidling a relationship with the sponsor.
When you see someone who has what you want, thats the one for you.
Your not marrying the person, glued to the hip or otherwise bound to them, so keep it simple.
Ask them to temp. sponsor you.
