The frozen North. Alaska. I spent half my life in Southern Oregon and the other half in Apache Jct. Arizona. Can't wait to get back to both. I am going to Medford in about a week to spend three glorious weeks in the fun and sun. I have been up here for 13 years.

I've spent many saturday nights alone while my husband is either out at the pub or enjoying his alchoholic beauty sleep.I'd like to say you get used to it but I haven't yet.I will say it doesn't bother me as much as it used to,maybe I am learning to finally detach a bit.I usually end up feeling like an uncaring person when he is drunk.I think some real nasty thoughts sometimes when he's drunk.Since he's drunk most of the time when he's not working,I have a lot of time for these thoughts.Sorry'I seem to be rambling a bit.I try to not let him get to me and it is so hard to do.He goes to great lengths to let me know I'm a cranky miserable person.I am learning not to take it to heart.I know it is the beer talking. Why do they have to turn mean no matter what you do or don't do?It is such a shame that a smart witty good person like him will do this to himself.Do any of your husbands get depressed and mean when they drink?I think it wouldn't be so bad if he was a happy drunk.I'd like foolish better than mean.anyways I'm in northern British Columbia,Canada.

I LOVE Ireland. I had the pleasure of spending a week and a half there a couple springs ago...it was amazing. I spent a bit of time in Wicklow, on my way to Bray then Dublin. There is an AWESOME vegetarian restaurant in Bray, about a block from the water. It also doubled as a collectables store. You could walk around the restuarant and browse the wares while waiting for your food.

-pedagogue

ps. btw...I am far from a veggie (I <3 Red Meat), but my g/f at the time wanted to have ONE meal that didn't include meat during our stay!
