Okay so the guy I'm congratulating has no idea I'm saying it. Abf came home from ball last night to say that his friend R was playing with them too. Before I knew it a very audible groan came out of me. I've never seen R sober or without a beer in his hand before. I'm of course thinking "Wonderful, he'll be out with a drinking buddy, I know what that means." Abf knew what the groan meant and he said, "No, he quit that". I asked him what he meant and he told me R quit drinking. Hasn't had one for over 2 months. R said he was on a diet or something but you know what? I don't care what the reason is, I'm very proud of him. I was actually very excited that for whatever reason, he decided not to drink. I didn't do it pointedly or on purpose or anything but I made it clear that I was very happy for R and it was awesome he did it. Abf didn't say much but I get the feeling he does realize that R is doing something that is really good for him. He was also quite surprised.

So I'm sending R a huge round of applause and all my fingers and toes are crossed. I'm very proud of him! :great
