You all bring a tear to my eye...like there are any left .

It was a very difficult time, but the strength and love I felt from you all here truly saw me through all this. A wonderful minister spoke at the service and I swear his message was written for me.
As great as our loss was, we had the opportunity to see many old friends as well as my best friend and her two grown children, and I know this brought us all even closer.

For whatever reason, "Steel Magnolias" has been on my mind the last couple of months, and I told my friend Beth that if she needed to "Hit Weezy" to go ahead and hit me, and dam if she didn't almost do it!!!! We both laughed and cried and just hugged each other a lot. I guess as we get older, we learn to treasure our friendships more than ever.

My husband flew back out west today. He was such a rock through all this, yet had his own time of grief too. I didn't know it but he took a picture of him and Ed (our friend) and put it beside him and I have to say that was my biggest breaking point, but I needed to let go, so it was good.

I am back and feeling better, and am so grateful for my Higher Power who was beside me all the way. And I felt the presence of each one of you there too....thank you for your love and support.

Now the healing begins and I know that with time, the memories I have will be even more special.

I'm glad you found some time to grieve. I know I often think that the older we get the more of these losses we will have to go through. I often find comfort knowing that those I love have gone on before me and they will be waiting when I get there. It feels like they just leave a door open for us and that home is in two places now, not just one.

This brief time we spend on earth is just a training ground for eternity. We need to use our time well and learn our lessons. I think the people on this site are learning lessons that few others learn. I find that our time of suffering is a gift from the instructor. One day there will be no more tears and no more sorrow.
