Question....
I am an alcoholic & am on my way to detox. I was just wondering if there are any websites out there for my husband. He has no experience with addiction & can't understand why after 16 years, I can't just "stop" on my own. I know ther is alanon, but I am looking for some kind of writings or words to help him out. I love him dearly & do not want to lose him through this process.
Thanks,
Kelli

Right here. While most of the posters here are women, there are indeed a few guys who have experienced this. Tell your hub he'd be welcome. There's lots to be learned just by reading the power posts and the stickies.
And...best wishes to you, I hope you get what it is you need to help you control this disease.

Hello Kelli
Unless you have stuff posted here you don't want to share just yet with him... This site has some great info and support for him as well. The sticky posts on the Al Anon and or Nar Anon boards would be a great start.

On each board the posts that are located at the top of the page are locked and stuck in place.
The info remains so as others post, it doesn't slide down the page.
As you look at the main page for this board...one of the stickies are named
Forum Power Posts.

Perhaps he would read the big book of AA. it has personal stoies in the back, and a chapter to the families. Also like everyone else I would encourage him to read here, You can go to the AA page here. quickest way to AA is go down to blue line on this site and use forum jump, that gives an index to click on.
My very best wishes for you both always clancy46
