I am glad you surfaced!!!! And I can tell you...listen to your sponsor!!! My she-devil sponsor tells it like it is, and I do the same thing as you (isolate) when I just want to be safe and by myself. That is okay for a while, but then I get stuck.

Thanks. Yes, I am stuck it seems. I heard "Fake it till you make it" when I first came to Al-Anon. Well......it seems as if all I am doing is faking it and that's just so.............fake!!! I am sitting at step 4 and all I have done is the written part ! Steps 1-2-&3 I still believe and always will even if I don't get past 4.
Without my A in my life ( I still have feelings for him) I just seem to be roaming around lost.....doing what HAS to be done (work,clean,food,take care of my son) Although at times my son seems to take better care of me than I do!!! ( He's 15 going on 40 lol).
I went to a meeting last night and that made my brother mad! They wanted to come over for my b-day. I told them I have friday nite plans (and have since I started Al-Anon, 5 months ago) that didn't go over well because I wouldn't change them. My sister-in-law works 3rd shift and can't come anyother time this weekend? Does she sleep 8am to 11pm??? I don't care if she comes or not anyway
After 8 years of doing what she wants, to keep the peace, I have started doing what I want!!! They don't loke it and don't get it! Oh well!
Oh my gosh, I looked back and saw how much I have written. I didn't mean to go on and on. It just started coming out.
