Counceling
Counceling
I start my counceling today. I really have NO idea where to start. Or even why I am really going! I think I feel like I want my feelings valadated or something. Since I still live with the guilt of my afair and leaving my kids and X, sometimes I feel like I don't have the right to complain about my home life or my x/AH (maybe I should call him my AX!!! ) Anyway, I'm hiping she will just take the reins and guide it along! :allgetalo
cup and bahookie - i didn't know either when i first started going. they will probably ask why you are there and what you hope to come out of your time together. that pretty much opens it up and once that ackward feeling is over, you can open up more freely with whatever. it does help. cup - i think you will get a feeling of validation - i think that what a lot of us are looking for because we have been led to believe our feelings don't matter for who knows how long - either by addicted spouse, parents, etc.
good luck to both of you and may it do you some good!

Thanks for that :)
I must admit I'm getting nervous already.
I'm not sure I could answer those questions!

jane - don't be nervous - just start talking about whatever comes to mind - you are unhappy with your relationship the way it is, etc. the rest will come out as time goes on believe me!
it was hard for me and probably others to get started because, again, when you have been stuffing feelings, told to be quiet, etc., actually sitting down and having someone let YOU do most of the talking is a strange thing at first. it gets easier over time but i still have times when i am unsure.
hugs - chris
