A Thought for 1/6/2005

I am more than my weight.

Whether I am size extra small, small, medium, large, or extra large, my poundage is only one aspect of the total me. We are each a child of creation. Every one of us is special. We each have an important contribution to make.

We have the opportunity to discover our potential, the totality of our being, which transcends size and weight. We can accept ourselves just as we are, at this moment, whether we are thin or fat or in the middle, because the body we have right now is the one in which our complete self lives.

Nurturing that self is what we are doing when we follow the Twelve Steps along with our plan. We are unlocking our potential as complete human beings, as we work in recovery to develop our spiritual, emotional, and physical sides. A Higher Power directs the unfolding of our total personality.

I can be assured of my individual worth and dignity, whatever I weigh today.

From the book Inner Harvest by Elisabeth L.

Hear ye Hear ye! Good to read and understand harder to keep as truth. We would
all be happier people if we did not spend so much time worrying about the package.
Thank you for your post. Smiles--Dee

Right on Petuna!!!!!!!!!! Often when I go out to eat I skip the appetiser and eat only half of my meal (saving the rest for the next day!). But then I order a wonderful dessert!!!!!!!! Real Living means not being afraid of dessert. Well then, I am really alive ----oh yea!

Former - I love your quote - so many things need to wait for another day!!!!1
