We received very sad news that Mike has passed away. He was a beloved member (and Moderator) of SR for 17 years. Mike was always cheerful, positive and kind with everyone. He inspired me with his unfailing good humour, despite dealing with health issues of his own. So, please give Mike a smile and wish him well on his journey. I know for sure that he will be smiling down on his SR family. Thank you Mike for all you've given us. Rest In Peace.

Mike was one of the kind folks here who taught me the ropes of being a mod...and also showed, just by being Mike, how to be an example of recovery.

I also learned a lot about stoicism and how to deal with chronic pain.

You will be missed Mike but this site is the better for having your posts of wisdom and compassion around.

I'm so sorry to hear about Mike. He was so kind and helpful to so many here on SR. In spite of his health problems, he always had time for those who needed him. He will definitely be missed. Rest in peace, Mike.

Quite a character, I got to meet him in Vegas to share a meal and he had some great stories, my kids warmed up fast to his humor and friendliness. Mike had such a kind heart and was willing to help anyone who's path he crossed, I have missed his presence here over the years.

Fly with the angels, Mike, I'm glad your body has been restored anew and there will be no more pain.
