Hi everybody. I just wanted to share my happy update that I had my baby last week. She is beautiful and amazing.

I stayed with my ex for a long time thinking it was the only way to have the family that I want, both in terms of having my older kid parented properly (by me, her sober, emotionally healthy parent), and in having a second child which I always wanted.

Turns out that I was looking to the wrong person to give me the life that I wanted. I gave it to myself instead, and I have never been happier.

I’m sure things will be rocky, but even in these newborn days that are not exactly easy, I feel good, the air in my home is calm and loving, and I feel well supported by all the people who love me that I refused to rely on when my home had that poison in it. I am so, so glad I decided to believe that I was enough all by myself.

I want to post a picture but that seems like not the smartest thing to do, but I promise, the baby is adorable.

Awww congratulations! Little girls are just the best (grama of a new little girl here) so I’m a little biased lol. And I commend you on making your home a safe, loving and nurturing environment for your children.
