Someone knocking at the door

While meditating, someone knocked on my door.

Stepping back mentally, pausing and breathing into the moment, it becomes easier to choose any given "next healthy action".

In this case it felt like a good opportunity to wait a moment and sit with the "not knowing" if I'd be getting up to answer the knocking. As I breathed calmly, accepting myself, just as I am, the apparent answer arose to stay in meditation.

I also hear geese flying nearby and other life sounds. I'm trusting in life and good timing.

Physiology of the brain: when I'm aware I have the opportunity to pause and choose healthy actions -- to move from a flood/reactive response to one of awareness, getting to have a choice in this process and pausing, my options expand. I appreciate each new day and the many positive options I have in any given moment.

Learning to allow yourself time to think and decide before acting/reacting is a very good thing
