^^^I giggled. I could hear my ex husband saying that semi-seriously about his first wife....it's not how the two of us do it It also sounds old school Southern to me....

Not regional or religious for sure. Good question though, I didn't really think about it too much before posting. With my parents it was always our family, I don't ever remember visiting my Father's family at Christmas time (He had 4 siblings near by and my grandparents, Mother had no family near), it's possible it happened when I was little and too young to remember. I doubt it though.

I think that's really where my remark came from.

As adults the Husbands are/were all imports, so that probably has a lot to do with it, not willing to travel that far.

Flights booked for me and 2 kids. Going to play tourist in my old home town. A week away. Nice.

That sounds amazing. I am really hoping that as we plan Thanksgiving we will end up spending a few days with my parents at the beach.
