Anyone seen this?

AH is under legal limit but had booze. Got mad at family for lashing out at him for drinking, went out driving to prove he’s sober. Is this a common behavior?

agreed - used the flare up as an excuse to leave and go procure more alcohol. it's stupid and senseless but that is what some alcoholics do.

He loves drinking and he's going to get very defensive when confronted on it.

Haven't seen it but can easily imagine my EXAH jumping in his car to prove he's not drunk only to get another DUI or kill himself.

They live in a reality that exists to drink and constantly reaffirm that they can control their drinking.

Is it moronic?

Then it's a common behavior of an active alcoholic.

Yeah, the flounce out is usually a "clever disguise" to go get more booze.

Yep. From me and plenty of others. The dramatic flounce out is a tragic art form.
