I am realising that amongst the assortment of addictions I have, co-dependency is the hardest one to deal with. It is so deeply ingrained in me. The others - booze, food - were more kind of surface. Also some of my other behavioural ones were more on the surface.

The co-dependency feels like it has been part of me for longer than the others. I guess because it started as a very young child. I grew up in a violent, alkie/non-treated Al-anon home. The co-dependency was needed to literally save my life.

I am grateful for it but it needs to go now.
