Forgiving/moving forward vs whitewashing

May I be aware of my truth, my story and the trauma I've been through. May I find ways to express it and tell it that:

- frames my recovery in a positive way, for myself and others

- is honest, open and allows the trauma recognition

- is very brief at times and able to be told in a longer version as needed

- stands up in confidence about what I've experienced

I'm not alcoholic. I am in recovery. I can learn a lot from alcoholics, addicts and especially double-winners in Al-Anon groups.

There are celebrities who've had recovery from alcoholism/addiction/trauma, yet as some stories of how bad it was or why they took steps to change their lives beomes whitewashed (painted over/forgotten), relapse often follows. It can happen to anyone.

I want the ability to tell my truth and acknowledge it, while embracing new, better, more.

Bump. No reason other than trusting my instincts. Typically as I revisit my past posts they give me something needed that becomes clearer as I allow time for meditation.

Happy Easter, everyone! May it be a beautiful rebirth of spirit, truth and creativity.
