Rehab visit went well
visited ABF in rehab for the first visit allowed and it went well. He said he’s where he needs to be and will need the full 90 days there. It’s amazing what 23 days off the booze looks like though, puffiness is gone, eyes are bright, speech is clear.
I plan on continuing Al-Anon weekly, we both have our own recoveries to work on.

So glad to hear it went well and that he appears to have accepted he is where he belongs. You are so right in that you each have your own recoveries. Glad to hear you will continue Alanon. Thanks for the follow up!

Schne…..that is really good news. Thanks for the update.
If you really get it....that both of you will need to work on your own separate recoveries.....that means that you are, already 50 miles ahead of where most partners are, at this point. Good for you.....
Recovery from addictions is a life-long process....of principles to life by....and, I hope that he grasps that message....that it really sinks in....
Even if he doesn't grasp that idea...that he can never drink, again, and that he must work his program hard...after the 90 days....as long as you keep reading and learning, on your side of the street....You will know what you are up against and how to protect yourself from his alcoholism.....
