Then something else is mean to be. Trust you're meant to be somewhere else. Keep knocking on doors. See what happens. I love when things work out simply and easily. I also see growth inside me as the journey sometimes requires something more/different/connecting with other people, etc.
At the top of my list for searching for a place to rent I was inspired to write "Information Gathering". I prayed. I called numbers on my list. I prayed. I waited. I prayed. Etc. The list was useful, the timing beyond me and the experience is dear to me. Things worked out very well. As I gain skills in resiliency, I become more resilient.
Good luck! Keep us updated. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Jen...I am sorry to hear that, as I know how you were hoping to be accepted.
I know, from my own life, not to let this "no" dissuade you from your plan. You may even get more than one "no"....but, if you don't give up---you will. eventually, get a place.
Will your adult child be joining you in the new place....?
When the going gets tough...tenacity can be your best friend. think outside of the box....maybe you can get a co-signer...or, maybe, you can get a short lease arrangement...or, perhaps, you can find a sublease arrangement.....etc.

I’m really sorry to hear that Jen. I can only imagine your disappointment. I am no expert and a newbie with Alanon but I am hoping you can see the “one day at a time” in this.......

thank you for your words of encouragement. You are all right, of course, just wasnt meant to be. And I knew it would be a difficult road. It was just...I'm realizing how wrong it was to allow someone to make decisions that impacted my finances and not speak up when it wasn't going well. 1 day at a time. I do have GRATITUDE my parents will cosign and even loan me some money. It's a little embarrassing. thank you friends.

we have an appointment somewhere else Thursday, I believe I will qualify, but I cant be positive. please wish me luck. every night it's the repeated drunken promise to change. I will no longer "prepay" his change with my commitment to stay.
Good luck Jen. I’m hoping the very best for you in your search. Try not to be embarrassed. You are awesome to be doing the very thing that many of us are downright afraid to do. It’s through people like you that others can empower themselves to change for the better. Big hugs.
