LIJ- addiction sucks. I was that guy who drank his way through a marriage. All I can say is alcoholism changes a person- and what my ex saw is not a true representation of who I was. I did a lot of hurt and damage- I accept accountability and responsibility for that and leave my family alone- to get on with their lives. I was most certainly in pain and felt very much alone- which I medicated with alcohol to escape- I drank to avoid the consequences of drinking. I hope you get on with your life and find some peace. My prayers and support to you, my prayers for your ex. |
I think that the phrase (by Phoenix) -----"drink to avoid the consequences of drinking" is an excellent one....I had not thought of it that way...but, that seems, to me, a good insight.... LostinJersey….I don't think his drinking was anything personal about you.... |
