I'm Divorced
Court went great! It was over in 30 minutes, and I got everything I wanted. I have custody of the boys and he is has limited visitation. He didn't even get a lawyer or show up. Although I had to sign a prenup before marriage I still got a fair settlement. I'm so relieved, and I'm going to be ok. I really don't think I could have done this without all the encouragement and wise words from everyone on this site. I know I will be tied to the is man through our children, but I know longer have to live in an unstable environment and be miserable. I actually feel free and relived. Today is a good day!

Happy "Day 1" of a new part of your life. Woop! Woop!!
Suggestion:
Honor and allow whatever feelings come today, tomorrow. Celebration is called for. Great protection of yourself & kids.
Grieve when it hits.
Maybe prioritize self-care this week?
Big changes here.

Happy for you! I hope you breathe a little easier, walk a little lighter, and have your head up a bit higher today - knowing that there is probably some bitter-sweetness to today.
Congrats on getting what you deserve!

Congrats Chev,
Just wanted to say that when I finally got divorced, it was a barrel of mixed emotions. I was happy, but I was also sad. It's to be expected. I don't know if the "sad" part of it was the realization that things were over, and that all the things that I thought when I took my vows, were just ended, or if I was no longer needed the adrenaline that I was working with for years, was no longer needed.
I guess I just wanted to say, is to feel what you feel. No feelings are right or wrong, they are your feelings.
So congrats, and best wishes to you. You deserve a wonderful, beautiful life.
