ACE---Adverse Childhood Experience
I thought that this forum might be a good place to give a link to the ACE study website.
It deals with many of the subjects that are discussed in many of the threads....such as stress and illness connection....stress on the children who are exposed to alcoholism in the home....or, witnessing parental fighting, etc.....
what constitutes an adverse experience....and what contributes to resilience?
Useful for thinking about our own childhoods....as well as t hat of our own children...…

dandylion,
Thanks for posting this. ACEs has recently come on my radar because my youngest son has been acting out so much at school. I have done so much research on it in the last couple months.
I wish the school would catch up with this information. My youngest son's teacher made a group table at school with 4 boys who all have lives with severe ACEs and wonders why they are ALWAYS in trouble.....
My younger son has soooo much guilt because of speaking out about his AF. He has stomach issues quite a bit as a result. Its hard being on this teeter totter. Thank God for good counselors.
Thanks for getting the word out to other parents. I believe this is such an important topic.
