Ugh, this one was a hard listen due to the topic but what a great perspective to hear from - the guy that tries to talk people OUT of suicide.

The first "Terrible" podcast I listened to was about a woman who's entire life changed due to crossing paths with a stranger about to commit suicide & it was just amazing.

I'm an Oprah fan too - I just found out she's turning Glennon Doyle's "Love Warrior" into a movie & I can't wait to see it!

If you have just started with TED, I highly recommend Brene Brown's talks on vulnerability/shame too - they are 2 of the most viewed talks they have for good reason:

One of my favorites is actually a computer simulation of how DNA works:

Wow, I hadn't heard of that book FS so I just looked it up and read 15 pages or so - wow, I don't know if i'm up for it haha - it's powerful. I'm going to download the sample.

I hope they make the movie quickly!

Thanks FS, I appreciate the suggestions. I haven't heard of that particular book before but I'm always looking for something to read so I'll check it out

I just watched both of the Brene Brown talks, they are well worth watching.

I think I've watched the one on vulnerability before, not sure, but it's worth re watching!

This one is so good I had DD watch it because it talks translates to all areas & relationships in life - we are always coming up against people with inflexible mindsets & this explains it pretty well:

https://www.ted.com/talks/julia_gale...f_you_re_wrong

Perspective is everything, especially when it comes to examining your beliefs. Are you a soldier, prone to defending your viewpoint at all costs -- or a scout, spurred by curiosity? Julia Galef examines the motivations behind these two mindsets and how they shape the way we interpret information, interweaved with a compelling history lesson from 19th-century France. When your steadfast opinions are tested, Galef asks: "What do you most yearn for? Do you yearn to defend your own beliefs or do you yearn to see the world as clearly as you possibly can?"
Thank you, FireSprite.
