Struggling to recover from break up with XAH
So very sorry this has happened.
Speaking as an A in recovery, what some of us do when we stop drinking is replace the alcohol with the buzz of a new relationship.
Straight swap as it releases similar feelings in us and also we can fool ourselves that there is nothing wrong with us, it was our former relationship that was causing all the problems.
That now we are with a new partner, all those old problems have gone.
As time goes on and the "high" of the new relationship fades, all the old feelings and behaviours come back.
I was in this pattern for many years. Using partners as a "fix". It leaves a wreckage behind us. At the time I was so self centred I didnt see it.
