Me and my family need help

Hi everyone, my mum has been drinking everyday for roughly 6 years, in the last 3 years things have gotten worse and worse. She was diagnosed with chirosis about 2 years ago and has continued to drink and drink. She is in pure denial and it’s got to the point where her brain isn’t working properly anymore and has no short term memory, she can’t hold a conversation or read anymore. We are continually taking her into hospital for different things but over the years as Mum hasn’t wanted to help herself the specialist for her liver doesn’t see her anymore. She has a blood disorder, low blood pressure, thyroid problems and countless other things My mum is 67 and she recently broke her shoulder falling down the stairs. She lives with my dad and he still works full time, 6 days a week. Last night we got in and she was on the floor with a broken nose, shoulder broken again and in a pool of blood. We cannot leave her alone anymore, and she will use every bit of strenth she has to get to the shop to buy more drink, Without going into detail about the ins and outs, it has been a nightmare, our mother has gone. We just don’t know where to start, she needs to be looked after constantly but me and my sisters are unable to do so. She is a danger to her self. What can we do? Sorry I am writing this after being up all night worrying, any thoughts or if anyone else has been in a similar position to offer some suggestions. Thanks

Hey Gall, I am glad you’ve come back. From reading your previous thread it sound like your mother has been deteriorating for a long, long time. What does your father say? Have you contacted any kind of social services agency to find out what your options are? Unfortunately it does not sound like your mother has any interest in quitting.

Hi, Gall.
Very sorry for your situation.
I have an alcohol addicted sib who is physically deteriorating, couple of years younger than your mom.
There is really nothing anyone can do when people are bent on killing themselves.
Im figuring my sib is going to end up in a nursing home, if we can find one that will take him.
