The power of "Thank you!"
When I don't want to say it....
When I am full of raging anger....
That's within me....
And mine to deal with....
Thank you
Flowing from my mouth....
Beyond me own reasoning....
Allows for HEALING, abundance and self-compassion....
I didn't realize I so desperately needed.

The HEALING power of "Thank you" has been huge in my recovery from this family disease of alcoholism.
A friend of mine with strong recovery in both AA and Alanon kindly listened to my frustrations regarding interactions with other Alanon members who were "trying" to be helpful, yet I was getting triggered. Then he suggested to simply say, "Thank you."
Once I started doing this, the results have been extraordinary. Especially with my close friends and family.
I am grateful. I am thankful. In that... everything changes.

I am no longer a doormat. I know my own voice and can use it. I no longer tolerate any kind of abuse.
I can walk away... create safe spaces for myself to heal in...
And as I interact with others... I can now graciously say, "Thank you."
