I Had A Merry (SOBER) Christmas!

My AH is on day 24 of sobriety. He quit cold turkey because he knew there was no weaning off. It was all or nothing. The first week was a little tough with the detoxing, but I am happy to say that we've been getting along exquisitely and that I have my husband back. We're leaning on our faith and taking it one day at a time, but I couldn't be happier. Last Christmas was so depressing. This year it was beautiful and everything I could have hoped for. I am praying for a sober 2018.

Working a Program

Dandylion, he has not been attending AA meetings. We watch a ton of religious programming. Our church has a media archive to tap into and I record things like 700 Club. As long as it is working, I'm not knocking it. Our home has been so peaceful - - my daughter asked me if we were in marriage counseling! When we see potholes (hubby wanted to take me downtown to a hotel to look at the lobby's decorations and have hot chocolate) we point them out and either make a sobriety plan or just stay home. We both had to admit that in that instance, it may be tempting to have a glass or wine or cocktail instead of hot chocolate, so we didn't go. 25 days today! Woo-woo!

That is wonderful Lovepeaceandsushi,

May you both learn and grow with whatever works for you.

I don't know much about it but Celebrate Recovery is a Christian recovery program you might look into. There are probably online resources.

Has anybody here used it?
