Love never dies
Debbie...my prayers are with you....but remember that love never dies and your husband's love is always going to be just a thought away....you'll feel it.
You just have to try to live your life to the fullest one day at a time as much as you can....You have a Higher Power to help you get through...and a fellowship that will always be there for you.

Thanks Ann. Today was an okay day. I've started to get together the memorial service which I hope to have on 11/19 which would have been his 53rd birthday. Most people think the choice of date is fine, a couple of people have looked at me funny. Oh well, my decision. I meet with the pastor on Wednesday so I can confirm the date. I know I am going to be a mess again but its to be expected. We (his family and I) need this for closure. I know I am never going to be fine but eventually I will get used to it. If that makes sense.
Thanks for being here.
Love and hugs,
Debbie

I think it's beautiful that you're having a Memorial Service on his birthday Deb.
Let people look at you funny.
This isn't about what works for them, it's about what works for you.
Do what you need to do to get some closure.
Big hugs,
Gabe

I think that is beautiful too, Debbie, and I think it will help give you all closure. Just know we'll all be there with you, even if we look funny, we'll be right beside you all the way.

Debbie,
You are right, you wont ever be fine but you WILL get used to it. Each passing holiday and special day, and then each year, you will be more at peace with things. You will find as time goes on you will be able to move beyond just going thru the motions and you will actually be able to live again.
It's a process, just like recovery. Allow yourself time to go thru each and every phase. Be easy on yourself, perhaps you can find a support group for spouses Again, just like you've learned coming here, if you can find others who empathize with what you are going through, and really allow you to share the pain and grief from your heart, you will heal.
We love you, and we'll be there in spirit for his memorial service.
Hugs and love

Thanks all, I made it through the appointments. I know what I need to do for the house and I have the memorial service in motion.
My sister went with me today. We went to lunch first and in the restaurant she handed me an AngelStar Worry Stone, it is an angel in a clear stone and the card with it says this:
Give your worries to the Angels
it is time to heal your heart.
Every day's a new beginning
Where love & hope can start.
Give your worries to the Angels
Release you doubt and fear
Trust in God to always be there
With Angels always near.
Needless to say I cried in the restaurant and have already been holding it in my hand
Then when we departed at the end of our busy day she handed me a bag which I just opened and there were pictures of Fred that should found that she took of us over the holidays and she put them in frames and gave them to me. Fred and I were never picture people, so these are very precious to me now. I am sitting here bawling thinking about it.
In one of the frames was a poem which also brings me to tears reading it....I will share with you. I am not sure who wrote it but it is sad and beautiful at the same time.
To The living, I am gone
To the sorrowful, I will never return.
To the angry, I was cheated.
But to the happy, I am at peace.
And to the faithful, I have never left.
I cannot be seen, but I can be heard
So as you stan upon a shore,
gazing at a beautiful sea - remember me.
Asyou look in awe at a might forest
an its grand majesty - remember me.
As you look upon a flower
and admire its simplicity - remember me.
Remember Me in your hearts, your thoughts and your memories of the times we loved, the times we cried,
the times we fought, the times we
laughed.
For if you always think of me, I will never have gone.
My sister is a wonderful person.

She sure is a wonderful person, it must run in your family. That was very sweet and beautiful, and I know that even though it makes you cry, that you will treasure all of it.
You're in my thoughts and prayers every day.
Hugs

Debbie -
She sure is!!!! Thank God for our sisters. They know us well and we can count on them being there for us. They are our best friends. I'm glad you have such a good one. Let the healing tears flow and know how much love and support you have right here.
Big hugs, Jo

Thanks
I just called her to thank her after I composed myself. We even have a picture in a very nice frame to give his mom and she has pictures I can give his kids. My family and his family are all such wonderful people. I am truly blessed.
I need sleep now, its been a most exhausting, emotional day. Again, thank you all for being here for me. You are the best!!
