Thanks guys - I also managed to find a therapist via on online website that helped me filter for what I was looking for in our area. I made an appt for next week for both of us to have a conversation with some mediation..... right now the smallest of discussions dissolves into combative interactions. I chose someone who specializes in ADHD (him), addictions, codependency & long-term relationships. I know she'll be able to help me even if he continues to resist professional help. (She uses Gottman & Prepare/Enrich methods - ?)

Those of you that "know" me here will LOL at this - she stopped me about 5 mins into our phone interview & said, "Um - have you alredy BEEN in counseling...? You talk like you are...?"

I told her that no, I'm self-driven in terms of my recovery although I got a lot out of Brene Brown's work specifically & she said, "oh YES! Brene!! That's part of what I'm hearing in your dialogue."

See - this recovery stuff just spills out the sides when you've saturated yourself in it!!

LOL that's great FS!

I had to visit a nursing home recently, and get some things cleared up with the social worker present for the elderly person I was visiting. She stopped into the conversation and asked me if I am a social worker, and when I told her no she laughed and said she was getting ready to offer me a job.

It is amazing when you put all your recovery tools to work. Keep it up FS!!!! We are here for you friend!
