Denial is such a horrible monster
It's tricky with family. My XAH's family knew all about his horrible behaviors. We had discussed it so many times, and they were supportive. His mother and father both passed, so it was just one sibling left. She was my best friend. Our kids grew up together. We were so close. However, know this. Blood is ALWAYS thicker than water. I learned that, quickly. I also thought that she would be the one to do anything to protect my children as they are her family and she loves them. Wrong again.
So make no assumptions. You are at a point that you are done. With your child, it's much harder not to enable and much harder to think that there may be no "bottom" at all. That this may not change.
Tight hugs. Keep going.

*sigh*... I know. Like your nickname, I am hopeful.
Blood is definitely thicker than water and I am hopeful they love this little boy enough not to cause drama. That's all I ask the universe, to spare this little man.
