My prayer tonight...
My prayer tonight...
...started off okay, although I could hear himself stumblebumming and clattering round the bathroom where he knocked the pictures off the wall last weekend. Found myself praying that my heart and mind would be directed by God. That I would be able to move past my resentments and find understanding and compassion for himself.... and then found myself praying .... "and please let the toilet seat drop on his Willy!!"
Not a thought or terminology that I'd normally have springing to mind at all so it almost shocked me.
Oh dear. Haha.
I did retract that line. Not sure where it came from but it did make me giggle which dispersed the resentment nicely so I've been able to be civil since then. Equilibrium restored and a peaceful end to the day. Thank you God.

I find those thoughts that aren't me to be a God thing... especially when praying for God to direct my thoughts and heart!
He has a great sense of humor and knows how to breaks me open in many unexpected ways. Yes, laughter is healing!
I have a hard time seeing the trauma I've been living with. Sometimes random new thoughts help me move forward with compassion, just as you've shared here. (((Hugs)))

Reflecting on ways God directs my thoughts with humor and unexpected gifts of peace... and was brought back to this thread!
