My boyfriend is bi-sexual and in a men's only sober living house. He has been going to meetings everyday, and does IOP. He has not gotten a sponsor yet, and when he had his 30 days on Sunday he has not gotten his coin/tag yet. He keeps telling me that he hasn't been to a meeting where they were giving them out yet.

Now about a week ago he told me that he went over to a guys place that holds an invite only meeting, and they sit around and discuss...things, he didn't specify. The name of the "meeting" had a weird sexual type vibe, like Cuddle Couch or something similar. I can't really remember. I commented on it, and was concerned he was out at someone's house when he wasn't off his blackout period, but I assumed that meant someone from the house was with him, but who knows.

Are there such things as legit invite only meetings, and if there are would they invite someone with less than 30 days clean?

I'd trust your instincts IAYW, but do you want to oversee his recovery? Is it bothering you that he may not be following the program, or that he might be straying?

My exah has met a man in rehab who is now his boyfriend so it does happen. I'd trust your gut on this one and focus on what you want out of life.

if you mean FORMAL 12 step meetings - then NO, there are no "invitation only" meetings.
