Moved on from alcoholic fiance and doors have been opened
After practicing limited contact with my ex for a year+ and working on my own F&F recovery, an old door opened. My ex-boyfriend of six years ago N, who after just a year clean went on a real bender back then, is over 2 years sober.
As I won't date anyone who doesn't have two years solid sobriety as I don't think they are ready for a current relationship, he said that's why he hadn't contacted me until recently.
So now after all of this work he did, and I have done, I'm so excited to be back together with N. He has shown me he is really past the early stages of sobriety and able to handle a stressful major at school in his speciality, buy, own and maintain a sailboat, and so much more. HE was even the first to bring up how the 2nd year sober was harder than the first year and so thankful I had felt the same way.
