We Made It!!!

My three kids and I made it to our destination and a new chapter in our lives.

Spent the day getting my beloved goats, horses and hens to their amazing new farm. Then packed and loaded a U-Haul and set off on a 6+ hour drive to my parents'. Arrived well after midnight. Tired but content. We did it all while AH was at work in order to avoid safety issues. He arrived home to an empty barn and a home without his family in it. He knew this was coming but not the date. Such an unfortunate situation but it was time to move on. No regrets.

Mixed emotions. Too tired to think too deeply about it. Feeling peaceful overall. My kids are excited. Thanks to everyone who has been there with words of wisdom, caring and support. New chapter, here I come! ❤

musiclady.....You must be really tired after that amount of work. It must be a big relief to have your critters and kids moved, safely.
You must be a strong lady.....
I am happy for you!

Ml,
So proud of you. You took the time to put everything in place, and it worked. The feeling of the thousands of pounds on your shoulders will start to lighten. The smile on your kids faces will grow. I always believe that this is God's time frame for us, not ours.

Keep your head up and moving forward, life is amazing !!!!

Musiclady, so glad you're out along with all your kids, animals and other associates! Get some rest; you deserve it.

It's a new day and a new world.

(((Musiclady)))

Be ever so good to yourself in the upcoming weeks. When the adrenaline wears off - the most important thing is your little bubble of peace.

No regrets.
You are incredible!

Brighter days ahead - one foot in front of the other - and I wish I was there to give you a hug and a high five. No regrets, indeed!!!

And hey - after I left, I emailed myself this thread. I read it over and over. sometimes a couple times per day. It might be a little early, but when you get settled....and maybe in a weak or painful moment...this might help you like it did me. Over and over.

http://www.soberrecovery.com/forums/...olic-when.html

A snippet:

You know youre no longer involved with an active alcoholic when:

- When you look in the mirror and you finally recognize yourself again. You feel happy, secure, healthy and beautiful in your skin.

- When your whole day no longer revolves around his drinking, withdrawals or temper tantrums.

- When you can go to bed at a decent time and not worry about him staying up til dawn drinking and cooking food, fearing he might burn the house down.

- When you can go to social events at ease with friends or family and not fear him embarrassing you with his drinking.

- When your anxiety and stress dissapears. You know longer have to walk on eggshells with drunk.

- When you claim your life and peace of mind back. It's no longer about him but you. Living life is finally Happy again!!

It was a very bold and courageous thing you did ML14.

You should be very proud of yourself for taking this huge step towards a healthy and happy new life. I know we are proud of you and I'd bet my bottom dollar your kids are too. What a display of strength you have shown them.

Keep taking the deep breaths, you got this.

*hugs*
