Webcams and an offer I couldn't refuse...
A little before 4 p.m. my time, I get a text message.
"Hi there, feel like doing something silly? Can you get on the web for the next 10 minutes?"
Sounds like an offer a gal can hardly refuse, right?!
Turns out that Mike, aka DesertEyes, is currently in Vegas and was standing in the central Atrium/Conservatory of the Bellagio Hotel--and they have a webcam! So, I go searching the web and find the live feed...
Mike: "K, see the big Xmas tree?"
Me: "Yes...!"
Mike: "To the right of the tree is a locomotive, then a xmas ornament, then a guy in a gray sweater"
Me: "I do see you! I can't believe this!"
So yes, ladies and gentlemen, I did get to see Mike today even though he is miles from me. I captured an image from the web and share it here with his permission, of course. The next post will have a close up from this picture

Yup, that's me, trying to figure out how to work my ****** phone so I could co-ordinate with Seren, and stay out of the way of tourists taking selfies, and not sneeze too much cuz I got allergies and all those colors you see are flowers.
I was kinda hoping I'd look like one of the Helmsworth boys, but I guess the lighting wasn't good

That is cool...!!!!! Never seen the inside of
the Bellagio, and seeing it all decorated at
Christmas time. It must be breath taking.
To connect with one of our fellow SR members
is wonderful and to have a special friendship, support,
care, understanding, helping us each day as we
travel the road of recovery together makes it less
lonely.
There are many like me that are not
tech savvy or have all those bells and
whistles that come with a phone, so
I appreciate it when someone posts
pictures of where they live or a trip
they are on.
It allows those who have never ventured
far from home to see that yes there is so
much out there in the world other than
our little corner of the world really do exists.
And then to see it all decorated at Christmas
Time. WOW...!!!!
Reading and seeing your pictures Serene
and Desert Eyes shared with miles in between
is totally awesome and definitely made me
smile and be filled with joy and hope that
maybe one day we can visit Vegas during the
holidays.
Been to Vegas once yrs ago with my little
family around the time JonBenet Died and
saw the yellow tape still wrapped around the
house. We did eat at the Flamingo and road
strip to see all the neon signs lite up.
We flew thru one casino with kids in
tow and remembering how noisy it was
and hoping no one would stop us because
of the kids as we were looking for a place
to eat the night we arrived.
Anyway....
Serene I hope you don't feel bad because
of this. You definitely lifted my spirits and
memories.

Just a couple of goofy alanoids is what we are. Over the years and over SR we've become good friends. I met her and her husband a few years back, absolutely lovely people.

Yes, it is fantastic. They go to a huge amount of effort and expense to build it all out of flowers. Then they make it free to anybody who walks in ( well, except for the parking fee, but you can just walk in off the street).

I loved it! Mike, it is wonderful to have a "face" to the name of one of the biggest "comforters" I have had in my journey with alcoholism and familial abuse! Seren, thank you for sharing and I am sending you loving vibes in what has to be a very tough season for you in light of your loss. xoxo
