Quackers about medical health

So H was off his blood pressure medication for four days and today his blood pressure was high. He blamed his high blood pressure on the poor hotel. It was fine with the old doctor. It must be the new doctor. When I informed him he drinks more then what he told the doctor he responded, "that it's all watered down". He drinks right from the can. How is it all watered down? The new doctor doesn't like the amount he drinks so now he's looking for a new doctor. *Denial*

My XAH seems to have some sort of auto immune disorder that has not been pinpointed. Perhaps due to treatment he had for his back (depo injections into the spine) Anyway, it was suggested that he be tested for Lupus and for 6 months, everything was because of his "Lupus." His stumbling and falling, his slurred speech. His bad moods. He told everyone that I left because I couldn't handle his Lupus. Turned out....he didn't have Lupus after all.

XABF had loads of medical quackers.

He developed a relationship he described as a really good friendship with a cardiologist (that has him on 2 blood pressure meds) who suggested Prozac to him . Said the Dr. was wanting him on it because it worked for him (the Dr.). This apparently insulted XABF. Then he claimed that he stopped seeing said Dr. due to the Dr. canceling 3 appts in a row and the relationship was too close. ?? I never understood the story, really.
So he self medicates with St. Johns Wort instead.

Claims that going to Doctors is a waste of time because once they find out you are an alcoholic they "give up on you".

Says that he cannot stand people that "won't help themselves".

I shouldn't laugh, but sometimes it's tragically funny. We'll always find a reason for doing what we want to do.

Dont feel too bad. Someone I know that is a medical doctor that tried to get his wife to seek treatment for alcoholism was flat out told by AW to stfu because he is not an "alcoholism doctor". The AW ofcourse did not care at all that he had met with an addiction specialist over his concerns.

Advice; dont take much of what an alcoholic says seriously because bottom line their brains are fried, or pickled.
