Great to hear the good news. Prayers that it's not cancer will go up. Glad you're back home safe and sound.

My mom is in a very nice rehab now, feeling much better, eating and regaining strength every day. She has a lot of PT and walks with a walker. She's in much better spirits and we are very grateful.

However the lab reports came back that she has Stage IIA cancer in her colon. Apparently this isn't an emergency and they are not saying to do anything until she's more recovered from the surgery. So - good news bad news.

I'm glad she's feeling better and improving - but very sorry about the cancer news.

I'm glad she has recovered so well from the surgery and it sounds like she is having excellent care. Very best wishes for the future.

53500, this is EXACTLY what happened to my mother in law this summer. She is also 84, was losing weight, anemic, tired, wobbly on her feet, started falling.

They found cancer in her bowel and operated. They tested 47 lymph nodes, one tested cancerous so they removed it.

That was in July. My partner (5000 miles away, she feels your pain) went home and helped her get back. Full recovery. Back to having coffee at the town hall with her friends. Walking around the house and outside with ease. No problems at all with (what's left of, they took 1/3) her bowel.

The really good news about colon cancer at 84 is that as we age, the cancer cells divide slower too.

I'm praying for your mom to have the same good results. She has a great chance.

wehave2day, thank you so much for that report, it is very encouraging!

And I have a good update. My mom is doing much better. She walks on her own. She feels better, she eats, she's dressing herself. She'll go home within two weeks.

And, incredibly - she saw an oncologist and he said no cancer! Now I have, in my possession, a copy of the pathology report that says "malignancy, Stage IIA cancer". We are trying to get an answer from the doctors about the discrepancy. I am of course very interested in the answer - and I believe God answers prayers.

I will go back east at the end of this month to see her. So grateful this is possible and she'll be home.

Many thanks, again for all your support and prayers.

It's so good to know she's doing better. Thanks for letting us know. I can imagine how relieved you are to know there's a brighter day ahead for her.
