O/T, just because sometimes I think we need it

I hate to even post this post since I don't know how to link songs here.

I think songs express so many things.

I was listening tonight to "Torn", Natalie Imbruglia

Then I needed to go to "unwell" Rob Thomas

I ended with "Wonderful World", Louis Armstrong

What are some of the songs that you associate with?

I love song threads. (And I may have mentioned these in older threads.)

The One that Got Away - Civil Wars - https://youtu.be/MnkM_ebv9BI
Sweet Nothing - Calvin Harris featuring Florence Welch - https://youtu.be/17ozSeGw-fY

Listening to Liam Lynch's "Happy Song" reminds me that I'm not the only one who has a hard time being happy when I'm "supposed" to be. (L for language on this one.) It always makes me laugh, even if it's a snerk-y kind of laugh.

Thankfully, I don't identify with this one much anymore, but did for a while, and still like the song: Dirt - Alice in Chains - https://youtu.be/9BdhHU5dEI0?list=PL...3NMMBh0r8W08z6

I got 2 more right now. Sick Puppies, Hugs Campaign, and Adam Lambert "mad world"

I am older now, and sometimes the loud music is not what I listen to, but I listened to all of the words in those songs. I really do appreciate music artist.

I do have to say, I can look at wolfs eyes all day long.

I have recently discovered and really like
"The Record Company"
All their songs are great, but fav is "Off the Ground" because
the lyrics "quit lying to myself and let the truth be told"
resonate......

my life is mine, I loved that

I was just thinking of some of uncertainty picks. I loved them all. I wasn't allowed to like hard metal. So I was never allowed to listen to it. Back in the 80's I would put on Black Sabbath, (Iron man) as soon as my h (now ex) left. I used to play Alice Cooper for my mom when my dad left the house. I think it was the Ballard of Dwight Frye.

Lets get on with the happy music, or meaningful music. I also do love these threads.

Yes, I'm not ashamed to admit I have a minor crush on Lindsey Stirling. She has incredible talent to be able to dance around so well while playing a violin.

Thomas, I do have to admit for the period of time that I was married I wasn't allowed to listen to what I wanted to listen to. This thread is a whole new experience for me. I started to listen to the first song that you linked and I just knew I would enjoy the rest, so I stopped it so that I could reply first. Thank you. It means a lot to me. Now to go back to listen to the songs. Thanks again.

Thank you for the last one. I wasn't allowed to listen to JW either. I was only allowed to listen to Van Morrison, who I do like, so not complaining about that. It was really good to end off my night listening to music.

I do have to thank you all for that.

I'm sorry, I did miss this reply, I was listening to music then. I haven't listened to the second song yet, I just need to say I love Cream, my fav song by Eric Clapton was the one he did for his son. I think it was called "Tears from Heaven"".

Going back to my playlist now.
amy

I was listening to great music all night. I don't know how I did it. I am computer stupid. I know I clicked on Scarborough Fair, and then I heard the Sounds of Silence, then, Take me home , Rocky Mountain High, Thank God I'm a country boy, sunshine on my shoulder, and then I don't know what I did. The music stopped. Guess I closed the wrong tab. That's about how smart I am with computers. (lol), but it's time for me to go to sleep anyway.

I hope everyone here has a good night sleep.

Here's a few that I had listened to a lot over the last few years... they've mostly been shelved as they're hard to listen to now and remain detached.

Rest Stop - Matchbox 20
Anna Begins - Counting Crows
Without You - Breaking Benjamin
(Can't post links)

To me, the BB song is one of the best songs that I've heard that describes how I(we) do anything and everything for our A's and how we lose ourselves as we go deeper into the depths of madness with them.
