How can I show the love of my life that I am committed to my sobriety?
How can I show the love of my life that I am committed to my sobriety?
Well, with my family and friends only by my staying sober
and it took time.
In my case at least a year or two.
This last time sobering up a little over 8 years ago
I knew that I had truly run a muck with the liquid devil
and it would take some good quality sober time on my part
before my wife and family would believe in the change.
It only seems to work if I do it one day at a time.
And one day at a time they also trusted in the sober Bob
just a little more than the day before.
Most of us recovering drunks
expect everyone to just jump on board almost instantly when we get sober.
Let's remember what we put them through.
Best for today that we just work on ourselves.
They will or will not come along in their own time.
