Today at work
One of my coworkers was bragging about how he hooked up with a woman he met at his first court-mandated AA meeting. I couldn't help but laugh and shake my head when he mentioned that their date location was a pub.
It's so eerie reading about this kind of thing almost every single day here, and then seeing it happen right in front of you.

I know, right? The sad thing, too, is that this jerk who has no interest in getting sober, just in getting out from under his DUI, may have preyed on a vulnerable alcoholic woman who really DOES want to get sober. The newly sober are usually not quite in their right minds, and newly sober women can be easy prey for those who are unscrupulous. Of course, she may be as invested in sobriety as he is, in which case, I suppose no harm was done to either of them, but it still hurts AA as a whole when this sort of thing happens.
The 13th step. My life is unmanageable so I want to share it with someone else.
I have pulled a few women aside and warned them of predators. In the meetings I go to this type of behavior is not tolerated but people in AA especially newcomers are very broken and it takes them a while before they get back on there feet
