The family and friends forums, like this one we're in now, are specifically designed for you to talk about the addict or alcoholic in your life alicagr

Hi, welcome to SR. When I first joined here I joined the newcomer's section. I am an RA. Then I strolled over to this section. I felt more at home here. My ex is an alcoholic, and he is also abusive. They are 2 separate things. There are many people here who are dealing with abuse, and also an alcoholic. There are people here that talk more about the abuse then the alcoholism.

A person can be abusive without being an alcoholic. An alcoholic can also just be a little self absorbed, but not in the abusive way, that abusive people are.

I hope you stick around.

When I was in an abusive situation, I really needed to have people to talk to that understood me, and didn't think I was crazy. I felt crazy all the time. I began to isolate myself. Please just keep coming back and talking, there are also wonderful stickies above about abuse.

((((((hugs)))))))
