Is that not the BEST feeling? When I got my keys to my place, I went over there when it was empty and laid down on the living room floor for awhile, just soaking in the quiet and safety of it all.

I totally thought about doing this... so I'm happy you validated it.

It will come together, my friend. Hell...even if you take 900 trips back and forth and just refill the same 6 clothes baskets over and over again, you will get moved.

Wisconsin... were you reading my mind?! : )

I have my backup safety people in place, but if AH tries to stop me from moving... well then I just call the police and file a TRO and that'll make things much easier.

Honey, I was in your exact shoes just over 6 months ago. Mercifully, I have a friend with a moving truck and a husband and 19-year old son. They were truly sent by HP. It was not without stress. They were delayed a day. And on the day they DID come, they arrived late, which stressed me out because I wanted all my stuff OUT before AH got home from work (even though he knew I was leaving).

It will be stressful. You will worry, and things will go wrong here and there. But it will be soooooo worth it. I slept for like 12 hours a day for the first week, because it felt so good to be out from underneath all the stress.

I have a few friends, a friend with a truck and trailer, and parents to watch my kiddos. : )
I have been learning to just take life as it comes, and it seems to working out well... I'm not without my panic moments, but doing my best to see what they are teaching me and then set them aside. Two months ago I was sick to my stomach just looking at an apartment, and now today, I signed a lease! This has honestly been 6+ years in the making.... I am SO proud of myself!!!!!!!

Good going! (Literally going, that is!)

Just stay careful till the moving is done (and stay alert after you're out, too).

I remember when I brought my grade-school-age kids to see "Mom's new apartment" when I separated from their dad (a non-acrimonious separation). My younger son (the comedian) ran across the empty room to the single sofa in the living room (delivered from the furniture store--still had to move everything else), leaped into the air and landed the sofa, on his back. He heaved a dramatic sigh and said, "It doesn't get any better than this."
