I know. I am not really in a good position right now to make alternate housing arrangements, but it is definitely something that I'm wanting to do once I am working and more on my feet. They don't charge us rent, and that is helpful right now.

My X had his stuff in my garage for a while. I gave him a date two or three months from the notice to him to remove his stuff from my home or I would donate it to charity. I was nice and said that I needed the space, it was nothing personal, but that I needed to be able to park my car in my garage, which was true.
That worked out well. While he did wait until the last min, he came and got it out. I've no idea of the legality of that, but it worked out for me.
