OT Another song I can relate to.

For the past few weeks I haven't been able to get enough of Burning House by Cam. I told my adult children recently that the song makes me think of loving someone with addiction or untreated mental illness.

Hippy.....I just listened to Burning House.......and I totally agree with your assessment of the lyrics.....
You can see why this song is popular...lol....

When I went through a painful demise of a relationship, once.....I played Purple Rain by Prince until I drove everyone around me mad...

Pretty song, THippy. The lyrics are spot on.

My favorite songs to obsess on when I feel like getting in touch with the sadness of addiction are Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd, and Can't Find My Way Home by Blind Faith.

My hands down, all time, personal favorite for the bluesy recollection of a doomed relationship is We Belong Together by Rickie Lee Jones.

THippy--"trying to take what's lost and broken, make it right", words from "Burning House"--that's what I do, that's always been my self-imposed job.

Talking to my brother on the phone today, and he says "but you take in strays, sis. You always have."

Recently heard Bonnie Raitt do "Angel From Montgomery" and was just overcome. "Just give me one thing that I can hold on to--to believe in this living is just a hard way to go." Here she is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vhe3vb0z7mY

WHAT IS SO WEIRD is that I was on my way to work this morning and I was thinking we should start a song thread! About songs related to addiction or recovery!

I can really relate to that song also.

My favourites are Annie Lennox - Why and Fleetwood Mac - Landslide and then after I'm all cried out I listen to Kelly Clarkson - What doesn't kill you makes you stronger lol

I was driving home last night singing right along with a Red Hot Chili Peppers song..

"You say "hello," and I say "I DO."

...And it struck me that I had been singing the codie anthem with Kiedis for the last few minutes.
