Signs

Ever since AH left in April I have noticed a little Robin in my back garden especially on my bad days I make it my business to look out my patio door and he is there every time without fail. A friend of mine said that it is a sign that my guardian angel is looking over me. I thought this was nice so thought I would share . Any of you heard this before?

Yep - goosebumps again! Nothing like having enough peaceful moments to really be able to stop and take notice of our signs. <3

So I just googled it there and this is what I found:

"The Robin Redbreast
The Robin Redbreast, has been subject of legend since the year Dot. quite literally. With the coming of Jesus Christ comes the legend of the Robins Red Breast. It is said that in Our Lords hour of need it was the Robin that tried to remove the thorns, it was the Robin that stood guard and only allowed the light to come near. It was this act of heroic bravery that caused a splash of blood to stain his red breast, this motive is still seen today and is worn with a pride by the **** Robin. Also the Robin can be found in every church yard but will only be seen once it calls to you and once seen, it's unique character will become familiar to you as this sacred bird will visit you often whilst providing reassurance for a new beginning.

This bird is a visitor and as such should be appreciated as a welcome visitor bringing gifts, it is for you to interpret the gifts it brings. Someone recently passed maybe showing you that you are being watched, maybe just letting you know that they still love you.

Just as every human is different so is every Robin, so look at this Robin and identify it's unique features. It is no coincidence that next time he appears you will "KNOW" it is the same one. He will stay around for as long as he is needed and will re-appear if called for.

The Robin is a solitaire, strong, silent, guardian, protector even when looking after it's family it is rare for it to flock with others, preferring to be solitary and heard when it speaks.

This beautiful bird is earth tied meaning that it will stay on the earth, it's duties include that of the escort, meaning it is willing to escort the spirit to a new beginning. It is a part of the dawn chorus singing in the new day and it is a part of spiritual awakening, a gentle reminder of what has been and will be again."

I adore these kinds of signs. During early recovery my RAH had a hawk that stayed around our property & made himself seen whenever he was home. This went on for a couple of weeks with the hawk making it obvious that he wanted to be seen - getting closer & closer each day. I have pictures of RAH standing next to his truck while the hawk is perched on top of it, less than 6 feet from him- he could practically reach out & touch him. He "chattered" constantly.... and as quickly as he showed up, he was gone & never returned.

I had a woodpecker that seemed to be stalking me for a few weeks during a time when I was struggling with a lot of changes internally. I shared about that at the end of this post:

Recently, honeypig had an incredible experience with a turtle! She shares about it on page 4, post #72 in this thread:

Wow, FS! Now I have chills.
I posted before that something happened to bring me here to SR. Nothing unusual or particularly noteworthy. UNTIL NOW! That ordinary, miserable weekend, while AH was passed out on the couch, I was sitting at my kitchen table and a red headed woodpecker started pecking away at the pergola right outside our kitchen window. I've never seen one in our yard before and not again since. I even sent a video of it to my adult daughters on our chat because it was so unusual. It was that weekend that I reached my ENOUGH point. I need to research this!

Wow love these stories.

He has been hanging around here for about 6 months now and he is always there when I am at my lowest. It's really comforting .

Never seen more hummingbirds on my balcony than this summer. It is usually one every two years or so. This summer, I saw a hummingbird at least five times. Now I did move, but it is pretty much the same location, so I really do not know if this was a sign or not, but it any case, they are amazing little birds.

It sure does

The hummingbird symbolizes many different concepts. Because of its speed, the hummingbird is known as a messenger and stopper of time. It is also a symbol of love, joy, and beauty. The hummingbird is also able to fly backwards, teaching us that we can look back on our past. But, this bird also teaches that we must not dwell on our past; we need to move forward. When the hummingbird hovers over flowers while drinking nectar, we learn that we should savour each moment, and appreciate the things we love.

I also seem to see hawks whenever things are going rough. Something about seeing them makes me feel watched and protected as well as lend me their strength and ability to soar with what seems to be no effort.

Tangled, I had the same experience with a hawk. And also found out the meaning and I do believe they are signs of God reaching out to us with the message that we are being cared for by something greater than ourselves. Find peace in that.

I am having a really tough day today and was going down the slippery slope when i saw your post and it reminded me of the hawk I saw and I need to remember that when I have these types of bad days. That all will be ok. Things are unfolding exactly as they were meant to unfold. I am exactly where I am supposed to be on this journey.

Thanks so much for your post. I was just re-inspired to continue on with strength that I am not alone.

I kid you not - this morning DD pointed to a hawk perched close to our house as we were leaving for school this morning & said, "See? I meant to tell you - that's at least the 3rd or 4th time now that I've seen that hawk sitting right there this week - what do hawks symbolize again?"

She's like a little Snow White - we went for a walk a couple of months ago & along the same routes I'd been travelling, during the same times, we suddenly were overwhelmed with sightings of rabbits, cardinals, etc. (I can't remember them all, I just remember laughing at the ridiculousness of it because it was constant bombardment that night.)

Another time I was in the middle of one of my long 5-mile solo walks & heavy into my mental time, crunching away at connections I was making about my internal damage & all of a sudden a white feather literally floated right out of the sky & into my grasp. No bird, I was walking on an open road, too far from any trees, etc.

The oddest thing was the sensation of time moving at different speeds - in my mind, I was grinding away quickly, rapid-fire synaptic activity. My body was matching pace until I caught sight of the feather falling in what seemed like slow motion (as it always appears with feathers, but it was exaggerated in comparison to what was going on inside)... and as I struggled to slow my pace to catch the dangling carrot, my mental gears followed & it was those last couple of thoughts that were the ones that I really needed to pay attention to.... I needed to process those points because they were The AHA moments I'd been getting to. I'm not really expressing the wholeness of the moment & how fast it all happened. It was like a flick of a light switch; I was awash with awareness suddenly, everything in me came together in that one moment - physical, spiritual, mental.

I've begun to pay attention to signs like this also. FireSprite mentioned my turtle experience, and since then, I've looked up a number of other critters that have seemed to be showing up for a reason. I had a hummingbird this fall for the first time in the 25 years I've lived here! Had to check into that one for sure. Googling "spirit animal" or "spirit guide" preceded by the name of the creature usually gets a wealth of results.

I had an experience last winter w/the absence , rather than the appearance, of creatures. I have a number of bird feeders out and generally get a fair variety of birds--several types of sparrows, goldfinches, nuthatches, redwinged blackbirds, cardinals, bluejays, chickadees, juncos, and a number of migrants I see as they pass thru in the spring. However, for about a 2-week period, I had NO BIRDS. Nada. The first day, I thought hm, that's weird. The second day, I was a bit alarmed. By the third day, I was frightened. I truly thought it possible that the world was going to end or some other cataclysmic happening was on its way. I mean, where were all the birds? I've heard of animals fleeing an area before an earthquake or other natural disaster...

I started obsessively looking for birds in other places, looking for signs of wildlife of any kind everywhere. Every morning, I'd rush to the kitchen window to see if the birds had come back. Finally, at long last, I saw a few birds on my feeders. Then in a day or two more, the numbers were back to normal. I was so relieved, I simply can't tell you! Didn't and don't know why it happened. I'd never been struck "birdless" like this before, not in the 55 years I've been on the earth, and it was frightening. It looked, felt and sounded wrong. I hope it never happens again!

A friend of mine passed away a few years ago this friend was actually AH's brother and I used to pray to him and ask him to please help me and AH and to please make everything alright and to please look after us... He died before dd was born and she calls him her guardian angel... Well anyway a couple of weeks ago I was having such a hard day I was on the phone to my friend and I was crying my eyes out. I had the radio on in the background and again in my head I was saying please help me... when all of a sudden his song, the one that was played at his funeral came on... I got chills up my spine and so did my friend it was the strangest feeling ever and it makes me feel that he is looking out for us and that we will be ok!
