Quick update
Hi all! I've been reading, but not always posting a lot over the past few weeks.
I am doing wonderfully. It has been five weeks since the move, and I am so, so happy to be free of living with active addiction. My daughters are doing great--mid-quarter grades came in, and they are both kicking butt and taking names in school. My son is adjusting to the change well. We still have outbursts and difficulties, but much less often than when we were still living with AH. He sees AH every Tuesday. AH takes him for at least part of most weekends. AH is clearly struggling, but I am just staying on my own side of the street. Life is so much better over here! We seem to have gotten into a fairly decent pattern of communication with respect to our son, and I will be filing for divorce before the end of the year.
Work is ramping up for the busy government budgeting season. Election season is starting, too (county official primaries are in January, with the general elections in April). Both are typically very stressful and emotional times for a lot of county employees, but I am walking into this stressful time with a smile on my face and a great attitude.

Also, I just came from the tattoo shop. I have a smallish tattoo of my AH's name, that I have wanted to cover for TWO YEARS. A friend recommended an artist, and today I chose a design. I'm going in on Friday to have the work done. That will be a huge relief to me!
Wow, I feel really old now...I have never considered even GETTING a tattoo of XAH's name (or anyone else's, for that matter), let alone had to deal w/covering it up at some later date!
Wisconsin, you are a wild woman!

Well, HP...it is my one and only tattoo. I always wanted to get one, but could never decide on a design. Then, AH and I stupidly decided to get each other's names, before we got married. Some of us need to learn our lessons the hard way. Ugh.
Yeah for you! so glad the kiddos are adjusting so well!
As for the tattoo - I'm guessing that will be another chapter added in our books of "What not to do" . . . lol I have written several chapters in that book -
I tell my nephew (he's 27) - the first half of your Aunt's life is definitely an example of what not to do. . .
keep enjoying the blessings! you deserve them
big pink hugs

Thanks for the update W. Your work sounds interesting and complicated, as I suppose there are are a lot of elected county positions. Hope it's 'good' busy that keeps you occupied, not 'bad' busy that imposes too much stress.
