My thoughts for today...
I am in a kind of funky mood and started scribbling and this is what I ended up with.
My husband has a mistress
He has chosen her over me.
How is it that she crept into my life
and I didn't see?
He chooses her daily
He loves the drama she brings
And he chooses her over the vows he made
Upon our wedding rings.
She stole him slowly
While I was looking away
And I have fought her constantly
Nearly every day.
Through thousands of meaningless promises
Through a million hateful words
Through the pain of bruises and a broken heart
And too many pleas unheard.
I have fought long and hard
To take him back from her
But she beckons to him and he can't leave her side
Of this I'm finally sure.
She has finally won, not only the battle
But the war as well
All that is left now of our love
Is an empty, broken shell.
She has defeated me at every turn
No matter how hard I kick and scream
She has stolen every one of my hopes
And every single dream.
I have finally figured out that she has him
His heart and his soul
She is a cold hearted, scheming b*tch
And her name is Alcohol.

OMG! I used to make reference to AH's drinking, behaviour, etc in comparison to a mistress. He thought it was so stupid and so different that he never could see the point I was trying to make!
