Free Drinks!!!

I was this week by an organization wanting to talk to me about a position. One of the perks of that position is "free drinks."

Sounds like a VERY interesting company...

Could be they're talking about free Snapple, soda, juice, etc. I don't think free alcoholic drinks would probably be legal as a "perk"

Are you making a career change?
Bartender?
When I worked in restaurants, free drinks at the end of the night was always a perk, that I don't think always worked out so well for the owners....

Are you in the U.S.? I can't see many companies doing this these days with the liability issues. Is it a bar/restaurant business at least that's making this offer?

Having done the books while I was in bar/restaurant management, hardly the case. Just like our regular patrons, if the first one went down the gullet, chances are more will follow. Given that bar/restaurant employees typically get a discount, have cash on hand, and are prone to enjoy social situations with alcohol (its the profession after all), I know that even for the non-alcoholic employees, they MORE than made up for the comp buying drinks after.

We used to joke that we employees paid the light bill. When I started doing books, I realized that there was a lot more truth to that than most of us realized.
