It was so pleasant. I have learned not to expect too much, but, he was totally sober when he got there, and had two beers at my house over a period of 3 and a half hours. Him and his gf went swimming, then we had steaks on the grill. It was really relaxing, we talked about the impending birth of their son, and just normal everyday stuff. He even brought me a candy bar that he knows I love as a gift.

I won't hold my breath, but, for the short time tonight, I was in heaven.

We learn to just enjoy these moments as they happen, but not to expect that it is always going to go so well. No expectations equals no resentments, is my way of thinking.
