Two Dollar Bill

There has been a tradition in my family over the years involving $2 bills. my grandmother would give them to my brother and me occasionally when we were kids. When I had my daughters, my mother carried on the tradition with them.

My mother, who was not an addict but was an epic codependent, passed away in early 2012 at age 63 after decades of very poor health. Over the years, the $2 bills floating around the house have been lost or spent.

I am in the very final stages of leaving my AH. As soon as I find an apartment, I am leaving with the kids. I have written a lot about the financial struggles related to moving into a new place. Those struggles and challenges are still present, and the source of a lot of anxiety for me, on top of the anxiety related to leaving a volatile situation.

Today I was running an errand over my lunch break. The cashier gave me change for my purchase. It included a $2 bill. It was like a wave from my mom, and a message that everything, even the financial stuff, is going to be ok.

As soon as I am in my own place, that $2 bill is going in a frame and up on the wall.

I got chills reading this, what a GREAT sign from your HP! Love the idea of framing it!

I also have a $2 bill thing - I get one at the bank every time I cash a check & I give them to DD for Tooth Fairy Visits, etc. She refuses to spend them, lol!

I recall I was given a 2 dollar bill that read silver certificate on it - from Grandma many, many years back.......

Be a good trivia question - whose picture is on the $2.00 bill!?!?

That's very cool you received one as change thought of your mom
Good luck to you in the transition........

That was definitely from your mom! So glad you had that experience. Thank you for sharing and reminding me to believe. There is so much to see in this world- when we are truly present.
