Hello all...I've missed you!
I just had internet installed in my new home today, which, BTW, is coming along quite cutely. I still have pictures to hang and a few boxes still to unpack, but all in all I'm pretty settled.
My divorce should be finalized by around the 1st or 2nd week of July; I'm so very ready. I realized I've been ready to move one for a good 2 years, I just had to cook up the nerve to make the change I needed. Maybe it wasn't so much getting the nerve as much as the personal growth I needed to stand on my own 2 feet. I'm still working on myself and personal growth. Perhaps I'm a never ending project..lol!
My sons have been distant. I don't hear from them unless I call them. They haven't moved into my new home either, but I'm trying not to take it personal because I know that the other home, our old family home, is where they have grown up. I would be sentimental about it, too, as I have been with my grandmothers home that I'm now living in. The only positive about this is that their dad is at least sober and I pray for him and our sons that he can persevere.
Really, this is just a check in. I have missed all of you! You all have been an integral part of my healing...wish I could have each and everyone of you over for dinner and hugs!

Don't you think that most of it, for most everyone, is getting the personal growth to stand on their feet......?
You have the experience, now, to help a lot of people who find themselves standing in your old shoes.....

I do have to add, Saturday June 6th would have been my 23rd wedding anniversary. I did worry about the upcoming date some. I worried I would hear from him; I worried I might be a wreck. None of the above happened. I had a slight misty moment, but not because I missed him, only misty for what could have, or should have, been. But...I know in my heart that where I am now is what should be in the here and now. There is no God in heaven that would wish a life like I've led over the years, or what so many of you endure still today. Not that everything was all my stbxah's fault; there is so much I have to take responsibility for now, too, and I've asked for forgiveness for my role in certain things -- 2 wrongs NEVER make a a right. And don't we all know this when when think the bright ideas up?? lol!!
I want to add this also...I have been on a few dates. Its very nice, much more so than I thought it would ever be.
