My A giving me advice

I hate that when I am feeling sad or stressed my alcoholic feels its appropriate to tell me that I need AA. I am ALLOWED to have feelings too. Yes, I am in Alanon and am working a program but I have feelings too!!

Unless you are an alcoholic, why would you need AA. I think Al-anon would cover it. Stick to your side of the street and your program.

Sometimes when the alcoholic starts to get the whole recovery thing they see people all around them that can use the twelve steps in their lives as well. The want to save the world.

At some point he will realize that he has to worry about him and only him but it might take a while.

Hang in there

And you are correct, you are allowed to feel, you are allowed to have feelings. How we react to those feelings is the only thing we can control.

Alanons do this too. I may have done it myself.
Sounds like you're working a good program. I do agree it would be really frustrating to hear that. You absolutely have a right to your feelings.

mamamac.......there is a saying: "Don't go to a hardware store to get a loaf of bread".
Judging from what you have shared......you have been standing outside the hardware store, crying, for some time......

Hon....maybe, that dog just ain't never gonna hunt.....

Mamamac......sometimes. the very best we can do is to recognize the reality of a situation......

It takes some people a very long time. If you can cut to the chase.....you are way, way ahead of the game......
Be thankful for this....
